The Daytime Hospitality Center provides reception, walk-in assistance, guest support, and other amenities 7 days a week, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Any member of the public may go to the Help Center Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., where there are mail services, phones, computers, and staff ready to help people overcome barriers to securing housing.
Diversion and Homeless Services
NLHHC operates the Hub for Homeless Services Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. You can call The Hub at (860) 580-6800 for guidance, resources, and other forms of support.
Hub/Diversion staff complete initial assessments for housing-insecure or unhoused individuals and help them find alternatives to shelter whenever possible.
Diversion Specialists partner with clients to develop individualized diversion plans. They make referrals, reach out to housing resources, and provide ongoing support.

Emergency Shelter
NLHHC operates a low-barrier shelter open to adults in the southeastern CT area. Our 40-bed Emergency Shelter is open from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. every day of the year.
During the winter, NLHHC adds capacity for a No-Freeze Center, and in the summer, we open a Cooling Center so that no one is left outdoors in dangerous weather.
If you're seeking shelter, please call The Hub for Homeless Services at (860) 580-6800.
Employment Coaching
NLHHC recognizes that securing stable work is a key step in a person's journey toward self-sufficiency.
Through the Ready to Work Program, our employment coordinators help participants develop skills and find gainful employment. Clients work alongside staff to search for jobs, write resumes, complete relevant training, practice interviewing, and more.

Housing Location
NLHHC's Housing Locators are responsible for identifying, securing, and maintaining housing opportunities for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
The Housing Department bridges the gap between clients in need of housing and landlords/property managers. Staff work to build relationships, coordinate placements, and ensure successful tenancy outcomes.
Housing Resource Center
Community members can connect with experienced, HUD-certified housing specialists at NLHHC's Housing Resource Center.
Our staff understand the local landscape and are committed to helping people find-and keep-a home. They assist with rental education, eviction prevention, foreclosure mitigation, first-time home buying, and more.
The Housing Resource Center is located at 727 Bank Street in New London, and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. You can contact them to set up an appointment by calling (860) 333-6034.

Outreach
NLHHC's Outreach staff help individuals who are defined as "literally homeless". The team receives referrals from caring civilians, police, municipal human service departments, community meal programs, food pantries, and other non-profit agencies.
Our Outreach workers help folks get back on their feet by going out into the community, meeting people where they are, and offering support.
Permanent Supportive Housing
Because most of our guests have very limited income, they have only a handful of options. These include market-rate housing, subsidized housing, and traditional units such as sober houses and live-in training programs.
NLHHC staff in our Intensive Services Department use their expertise to assist clients through the challenging and, oftentimes, confusing process of finding and securing housing.

Planning for Success
Planning for Success (PFS) is NLHHC's integrated approach to helping people experiencing homelessness or housing instability build economic security.
PFS connects participants with employment and income support, financial coaching, benefits navigation, and digital tools to help them achieve their goals.
Rapid Re-Housing
NLHHC's Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) Program assists individuals facing homelessness in achieving long-term stability.
Case Managers provide structured, time-limited support to help participants transition from homelessness to permanent housing.

Social Respite
The Social Respite area located in the basement of NLHHC's Shelter provides 24-hour specialized care to guests with chronic or acute health conditions.
Our staff work to ensure that guests facing healthcare challenges are linked to the medical and social services they need. Respite combines a stable living environment, access to medical care, and case management support into a package that can dramatically improve health outcomes for guests.
Veteran Supports
Project Home provides transitional housing for Veterans who are struggling with mental health or substance use disorders or who have been unemployed for an extended period of time. The program helps residents find jobs and access veteran services.
A case manager helps each veteran plan a rapid transition to permanent housing. In addition, NLHHC grants placement priority to veterans at the Edward Goode House in New London, which offers inexpensive shared living.
