Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day Service
Saturday, December 21 • 6:15 p.m.
St. James Episcopal Church, 76 Federal Street, New London
On the longest night of the year, our community gathers to honor the lives of neighbors we lost this year—people who died with homelessness as part of their story. This annual vigil is a moment of dignity, remembrance, and shared commitment to ending homelessness in southeastern Connecticut.
Highlights include:
-
Reading of names outdoors in solidarity with those who spend winters outside
-
Mayoral Proclamation recognizing National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day
-
Candlelight vigil and indoor reflections from community leaders
All are welcome to join elected officials, service partners, and the public for this meaningful evening of remembrance and resolve. Light refreshments will follow.
